Classes & Curriculum

Classes

At Stedham we are immensely proud of being a village school. With a small number of children in each class, we are able to cater for every individual need of every individual child that steps through our doors. Stedham Primary School has 3 classes, named after the three most common animals that live in the woods surrounding our school.

The class structure for the academic year 2025/26 is as follows:

 Rabbits – Reception & Year 1

Hedgehogs - Year 2 and 4

Foxes – Year 5 and 6

 Curriculum Intent

At Stedham Primary School, our curriculum is thoughtfully sequenced and ambitious, enabling children to build strong knowledge, rich vocabulary and understanding over time. Guided by our values, we challenge pupils to think deeply, make connections and grow in confidence, so they are well prepared for the next stage of their learning and for life beyond our school.

Whole School Curriculum Map

Our curriculum is carefully designed and planned over a two‑year cycle, ensuring clear progression and coverage for all pupils. Each academic year is structured around six engaging whole‑school topics. These shared themes allow children of different ages to learn alongside one another, providing valuable opportunities for collaboration, discussion and shared experiences across the school.

To ensure our curriculum remains purposeful, relevant and responsive to the needs of our pupils, it is formally reviewed and evaluated on an annual basis.

Please find our Whole School Curriculum Map for 2025–2026 below, which outlines the foci taught across the school during this cycle.
